Digital Distriution
http://realscreen.com/2018/02/06/bidslate-digital-media-rights-ink-digital-distribution-deal/
BidSlate is a global content distribution platform. They have constructed a 5-year non-executive deal with OTT, and digital video publisher based in New York. The deal covers the distribution of 2 documentaries and 3 other feature-length films. Those films in particular will launch across a variety of digital services like Amazon Prime, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu, Pluto TV, Tubi TV, Google Play, FandangoNow etc. In addition, the films will also be distributed across Digital Media Rights owned and operated OTT channels.
For my film using the BidSlate technique, with gaining distribution partner ships, would benefit my film a lot. Using other distributors to get my film on a variety of platforms in which can expand into more platforms with the amount of distribution each platform carries. Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter all allow for people to share view and share comments about the film and when they share it many other platforms can get ahold to it which makes it easier to be distributed around.

4.)How did you integrate technologies-software, hardware and online- in this project?
- The software I used were apps I used on my phone. I used my camera app, and the iMovie app on my iPhone to create my film. I merged all my individual takes into one in iMovie because I had difficulty doing so when using the actual camera and trying to upload it to the computer and doing it on the software on the computer. It was much more simple to do it on my cell phone.

3.) How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
-My production skills and my knowledge about production has changed a great deal throughout the project. I was presented with many ways to produce the film but I chose to use my cell phone. My cellphone was what I found to be more useful because I was having to many technical difficulties with the camera. To receive the angles I used in my film, I used a selfie stick in which is a hand held device that allows you to take pictures and videos from a far distance while holding a rod. I also saw that using social media platforms, such as, Facebook, Twitter etc. would help distribute and extend my audience and allow my film to get to more widespread publicity due to people sharing it, re-tweeting it and posting it on other platforms. Using Youtube also served a great purpose because exposing my film to Youtube could allow for a range of people to comment and tell me what I could fix basically giving critiques about my film and what I could do to make it better to please the audience that I would be reaching out to.

2.) How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
- There is a variety of ways to engage an audience. In order to do so, you have find a target audience and identify their interest and incorporate those into your film. My target audience was young adults. I made my characters young and my genre was horror, specifically because when you see a horror movies it involve young couples and or more broadly, young people. In my film I also used a change of scenery and color. Mostly during the film it was natural colors at night, like how you would expect a film to look at night, then once the accident happens the color changes to green. I believe this engages my audience because they then realize something is about to happen an it keeps them anticipated at they will keep watching the film. To distribute the film I would use Facebook and or Twitter to do so because they allow you to be able share videos and pictures and also comment. Twitter seems to be the most effective though because they are a more public social networking site. There's not many private post unless you do it yourself. Whereas Facebook is a more private place. Using motion picture distributors such as Columbia Pictures or Warner Bros would promote my films and expand the brand far being that they have been successful in doing so with horror movies for the past few decades.

1.) How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?
- At the beginning of my film, I used up to date music. Music that I know a younger crowd would listen to and enjoy which may attract them to watch the entire film. Also my film contained a isolated and gloomy setting. The setting of the part when they saw the strange figure outside the window was a dark road with no street lights; I found this to be the perfect setting for the mood I was trying to create. Also I used nature sounds, low pitched nature sounds to be specific. In the film my two characters get in a wreck but theres no damage to the car, the camera speculates around the car at the nature sounds of crickets and frogs are in the background. Also I used indistinct colors. At a certain point in the film I inserted at green lighting to signify something scary is going to happen you just don't know when and that creates anticipation.

Target Audience Research (Super Bowl commercials)
Super Bowl Commercials
NFL touchdown dances- Previously, the NFL would penalize players for doing victory dances in the end zone or anywhere on the field. They were looked at in a very negative perspective because of this. IN the commercial they references Dirt Dancing with the music and they way they were dancing which is targeting young adults (teen) as well as a older group (middle-aged) because of the reference to dirt dancing. To be persuasive they used celebrities such as Odell Beckham Jr. and Eli Manning.
M&M- m&m is a huge candy brand around the world. This commercial was targeted at teens to middle aged people. To persuade you they have humor and they use Danny Devito as a famous product. This ties into why the commercial targets a older audience because Danny Devito is an older actor.
Mountain Dew/Doritos/Lays- Lays, Mountain Dew, and Doritos are all brands that are popular worldwide. In this particular commercial they are targeting an older generation, not the millennial. They use rappers from the late 80's early 90's such as Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliot. Also they use older actors such as Peter H and Morgan Freeman. Those actors and rappers are from and older generation, therefore, targets a older audience.

Target Audience Research
Paranormal Activity 4
Paranormal Activity related to my target audience as well. This film seemed t relate to a younger audience such as the ages 15-25. The ages of the main characters play a major role in presenting the target audience as well because the characters are of a young age, in which makes them more relatable to a younger crowd. They could relate to the teenagers making the film seem more scary in the process while doing so. The team who put together the sequels of paranormal activity made a studio website up to advertise. They have a certain button on the site that says "demand it": when you click the "demand it" button you're directed to a site where you can vote the movie to your city. This takes place all over the world, so there's many showings of paranormal activity all over the world. If your city demands it 1,000,00 times, they play the movie nationwide.
Target Audience Research

Insidious
Insidious also related to my target audience. This film also targets young adults due to graphic images, suspense, atrocious ways people die and inhumane scenes. A younger population is more attracted to watch a film like this because they can sit for it without it twisting their stomachs. As for a older group this would lead to some discomfort. The film had several trailers played. Firstly, in the hospital, where most of the movie was filmed at. The hospital was open to the public for a tour and to see the trailer of the movie in 2013. The movie's trailer was played in the evening and at night specifically for its target audience which was teenagers and this was the best time to show so that the younger population could be persuaded to go and see the movie. Insidious also used posters and billboards for marketing purposes. In 2013, the first billboard was seen at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Posters were advertised posted at bus stops and cinemas. Insidious also uses social media as a marketing strategy, for example, they used twitter, Facebook, Tumblr etc.
Target Audience Research
The Human Centipede
The Human Centipede related to my target audience of young adults. The film targets young adults because they are prone to watching films like this; they do not mind the gruesome and graphic shots and takes that the movie has. Older people are put off by those types of images and are least likely to watch the film than young adults. The film had several problems trying to market. The most marketing techniques they had were trailers and poster around the city. Billboards weren't involved, nothing. This was because people thought the film was inappropriate and disgusting; it was even said to be the most disgusting film in the world. Marketing wasn't swell for the team who put the film together.

Critical Feedback on Rough Draft
When presenting my film and receiving the critical feedback, I was told that my lighting was conflicting with one of my characters and that some of my takes were long and dragged out and needed to be cut. At the beginning of my film there's a shot that shows how time is passing like a time lapse; yet it seems as if it is being dragged and takes too much time. So what I would have to do is edit my film to where it still shows the time lapse but not take up too much time. When being critiqued I was also told that my lighting was conflicting with one of my characters. I filmed in the car and used the backseat car lights to help with the lighting. It didn't much help with showing the character as well as it should have, it left a glare on her face. Therefore, I will re-film some and try and fix the problem with the lighting with one of the film editing programs that I am provided with.

Location
8th street and tuttle- I thought his would be a good spot to film, but I chose otherwise because every street had streetlights I needed at least one street that we could turn down in the car that had no street lights to create an effect that I wanted the audience to see.
I eventually chose the new street in Bradenton that connects 301 and Lockwood ridge. On this street, on the main road, there are street lights but turning down the side road of 39th street it has no streetlights which made it perfect for the film.
I did not scout any other location due to me knowing how I wanted my film to go, I changed my film from drama to horror because all my characters were not able to be in my film. ALl other locations that were of interest didn't meet my standards.
Casting
Beatriz Garcia
One character in particular in my film, Jessica, is very laid back, she didn't do much, she was just at peace with everything. Beatriz Garcia fit the description for this character and I did not think that there was a better person to film as this character than her
Vivian Garcia
There is a haughty character in my film by the name of Tiegan. Tiegan is the one who things she is the boss of her sister and can tell her what to do just because she's older and feels like she has authority over her sister. Vivian was the perfect person for this because in real life she is not cocky on a day to day basis but she can be.
Jocelyn Surber
The little sister of Tiegan in the film, Jenna, she's like a normal little sister, hates it when her older sister tries to belittle her because she's younger, but she never speaks about it. Jocelyn fit this best, not because she gets bullied by her older sister, but the way she way she read the lines of the script for this particular character made it where no one else could top it.
*************************************************************************************
Above was the original cast of my film, due to the schedules of them and myself, they were not able to be in the film like originally planned. I changed my script around to where only Vivian was able to be in it and another character by the name of Amariona Rivers. She fit the description age wise, she is 11. She played the role well. When my script altered that now made Amariona play the role of Jenna and Vivian still played the role of Tiegan.

12/16/17: 7-7:30< On December 16th, 2017, my actors learned the line, we took one day for them to get familiar with their lines so it would be easier to film on the day I decided to film
12/17/17: 8:30-9< On December 17th, 2017 was filming day, it took us about a half hour to film and took me about and hour and a half to edit the film by myself.
